Context

During the summer between my MBA years, I worked at Spot AI as a Product Manager. In this role, I launched 3 features 0-to-1, including conducting competitive analysis, customer interviews, writing Product Requirement Documents, and working with engineering and design to both implement and test the features.

SCOPE

As a Product Manager at a small-scale startup, I also supported other functions like sales (creating battlecards for new verticals and working with third parties to compile camera install contracts). I wrote knowledge base articles and monthly product newsletters to flex my marketing skills.

THE PROBLEM
Enterprise customers managing hundreds of cameras across multi-location facilities had no spatial context for their video infrastructure. Security teams struggled to identify which cameras covered specific areas during incidents, leading to wasted time scrolling through camera lists and delayed response times. For facilities managers, camera placement gaps and coverage blind spots went undetected until security incidents exposed them.
SOLUTION
Built an interactive mapping system that visualized camera locations on satellite imagery, enabling drag-and-drop camera placement, layout management across multiple sites, and instant visual identification of coverage areas. Integration with Google Maps API provided real-world context, while custom overlays showed camera fields of view and detection zones.

THE PROBLEM
Investigating incidents across multiple cameras required scrubbing through hours of footage manually. A single slip-and-fall investigation could take 2-3 hours as operations managers cross-referenced timestamps across 4-6 camera angles to establish the full sequence of events. Existing timelapse features only worked on single cameras, forcing users to maintain mental synchronization across multiple browser tabs.
SOLUTION
Built synchronized multi-camera timelapse with intelligent motion detection highlighting. Users could compress 8 hours of footage into 5-minute summaries while maintaining temporal alignment across all camera angles. Smart scrubbing controls allowed variable playback speeds (5x, 10x, 30x) with automatic slowdown during high-activity periods.

THE PROBLEM
Security Operations Centers (SOCs) monitoring 50-200+ cameras faced impossible attention economics. Static video walls showed the same 12-16 camera feeds continuously, leaving 90%+ of cameras unmonitored. When incidents occurred in unmonitored areas, SOC teams had zero situational awareness until after the fact. Manual rotation schedules required constant maintenance and failed to adapt to operational rhythms.
SOLUTION
Designed intelligent rotation system that dynamically cycled through camera feeds based on configurable priority rules, time-based schedules, and motion activity triggers. Built multi-layout support allowing SOC operators to create rotation groups by zone, risk level, or operational workflow, with smart dwell times adjusting based on detected activity.
