8 Years of Experience
I specialize in creating products that solve real problems at scale by combining engineering with user-centered design.
I am Katherine Tomera. I'm a Product Manager in Seattle, WA— born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, so I'm adventurous & gritty by nature. I have a degree in chemical engineering & an MBA. I am passionate about improving lives at scale & obsessed with designing solutions that actually matter. My engineering journey began at 17 when I witnessed load shedding and trash burning in Nepal and thought "there has to be a better way." I am insatiably curious with 33 countries stamped in my passport (and counting). My love for travel stems from uncovering how people choose to live their own lives. Plus, the ability to try new cuisines doesn't hurt either. Technology has been engrained in my life since childhood, from emailing friends between Alaska and Boston to navigating new countries as a solo traveler with just my phone and a sense of adventure. My early days in energy taught me to trust, yet verify—reinforcing the critical thinking and attention to detail that now fuel my approach in product management. In my spare time, I'm adapting recipes, crafting travel itineraries, skiing, hiking with my dog, or diving into a new "crash" hobby (current obsession: racket sports). Otherwise, I am inside ideating on new products or justifying my Costco membership by hosting NYT-inspired dinners.
